Pyzel Ghost JJF Futures 5 Fin Surfboard
- Colour: White
His dominant Margarets performance in 2017, the Bells Beach alley-oop, several mind-bending rides at J-Bay, not to mention his 2nd world title itself… how many iconic moments in recent pro-surfing history have been a result of the John John Florence x Pyzel Ghost combination?
The surfboard that Pyzel described as “possibly the first truly high-performance board that works great for all levels of surfer” is back for 2019. It’s still essentially the same board – same stock dimensions, same outline, rocker and bottom shape – in fact the only thing that’s new is the subtle JJF flag on the deck.
The Ghost has sometimes been called a daily driver, i.e. a go-to board for everyday conditions, but this is maybe slightly misleading – if it’s 2ft and onshore you’re realistically not going to be reaching for your Ghost, not unless you’re John John. But in surf anywhere from half-decent to downright epic, the Ghost is a board unlike any other, and as a "good wave board" it's pretty versatile.
“You can do the best surfing in your life on it,” wrote Longtom, the surf blog Beach Grit’s resident board reviewer. “When catching a wave it goes from low speed to planing incredibly easily and effectively. It knifes into a late drop better than any board I’ve ridden.”
Order it at your height or several inches longer.
